Tomatoes are the most expensive in Istanbul

Tomato, which is in the Food Expenditure Fresh Dried Vegetables and Fruits subgroup, was the product with the highest increase in price with 28.22 percent in November.

In order to ensure the transparency of the markets and inform the public, the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce (ITO) announced the products with the highest increase or decrease in retail prices in Istanbul compared to the previous month, together with their prices and change rates. While the retail prices of 155 of the 242 products included in the ITO’s Istanbul Wage Livelihood Index increased, the prices of 19 products decreased, while the prices of 68 products remained unchanged.

Other products with an increase in price; Blanket with 25.00 percent from the Household Goods Expenditures group, sweater with 20.09% from the Men’s Clothing Expenditures subgroup, toothpaste with 18.29 percent from the Health and Personal Care Expenditures group, and shirts with 17.86 percent in the Men’s Clothing Expenditure subgroup.

IN NOVEMBER 2022, BANANA INCREASED 17.29 PERCENT

In November 2022, the price of banana, which is included in the Food Expenditures group, decreased by 17.29 percent and became the product whose price decreased the most. Other products with a decrease in price; Lemon with 13.51 percent from the Food Expenditures group, fuel oil with 9.73 percent from the Housing Expenditure group, cabbage with 8.42 percent, leek with 8.27 percent and green pepper with 7.86 percent from the same group.
