Mochov (near Prague) – Near Mochov near Prague tonight, workers will demolish the bridge over the D11, the highway will be closed at night between exit 8 Jirny and exit 18 Bříství. The detour will follow the road II / 611. Traffic restrictions will start this afternoon due to preparatory work and end on Sunday, said Martin Buček from the Roads and Motorways Directorate. The bridge, which is crossed by road II / 245, is demolished by Central Bohemian road workers.

The Mochov Bridge has been closed since 11 November and preparatory work on it has already begun. Preparations for the demolition itself will begin today at 14:00, when traffic on the motorway will also be diverted into one lane in each direction, at the center of the motorway. The full motorway closure will start at 20:00 and should end by 10:00 on Sundays. “The bypass route will run on both sides of the road II / 611 through the villages of Nehvizdy – Mochov and Starý Vestec,” Buček informed.

According to Petra Kučerová, a spokeswoman for the Central Bohemian Regional Administration and Road Maintenance, finishing work will continue on Sunday, during which traffic will again be conducted in one lane in both directions at the center of the motorway. The construction of the new bridge will cost about 50 million crowns without VAT. According to the tender, its service life should be 100 years and it should also enable the future extension of the motorway by two lanes.
