Today is the second death anniversary of MR Mahbub, Executive Director of Language Movement Research Center and Museum, researcher and writer of Language Movement. MR Mahbub was born on 15 October 1969 in the village of Char Ahmedpur in Manohardi upazila of Narsingdi district.
He studied at Dhaka City College and Jagannath University. His career began with teaching and journalism. Since his student days, he has been involved in the language movement and has studied the history of the language movement. 57 books have been published on various aspects of language movement.
Among them are the language movement 1946-1957 in newspapers, Ekushey’s diary, Ekushey’s backstory, Azimpur language movement, Narsingdi language movement, Ekushey as the first and those who are immortal language activists. For more than three decades, he has been involved in the study of the history and roots of the language movement. He was engaged in various social work.
He died on 21 April 2020 in Dhaka while undergoing treatment. His wife and only daughter asked for blessings from the countrymen.
