The singer has endured a number of battles in her life, including health issues and an abusive ex-husband, but her pain didn’t stop there.

Tina Turner has suffered more than most in her 83 years.

The singer battled cancer, a stroke and kidney failure at the height of her career, but also lived with a form of post-traumatic stress syndrome, stemming from domestic abuse she suffered at the hands of her first husband , Ike Turner.

But the pain didn’t stop there, with Tina tragically losing a second child just months before her death.

The tragic death of her son Ronnie, who was found dead outside her home in Los Angeles, was the latest in a series of horrific events for the singer.

Her son, 62, who died in December after “having difficulty breathing” and being “found unresponsive by neighbours”.

The cause of death was not initially released, but the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s office later issued its findings.

Ronnie reportedly suffered from ‘complications of colon cancer’ as well as ‘atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease’.

The disease is a buildup of cholesterol plaques in artery walls that cause obstruction of blood flow, reports Page Six.

Sharing an emotional black and white portrait photo after his death, Tina appeared with her eyes tightly shut as she paid tribute to her ‘beloved’ child.

“Ronnie, you left the world far too soon. Grief-stricken, I close my eyes and think of you, my beloved son,” she wrote alongside the photo.

This was the latest affliction for Tina in recent years. In 2018, the singer lost her other son, Craig, after he committed suicide.

While scattering his ashes on the California coast in 2018, she wrote: “My saddest moment as a mother.

“On Thursday, July 19, 2018, I said a final goodbye to my son, Craig Raymond Turner, as I gathered with family and friends to scatter his ashes off the coast of California.

“He was 59 when he died so tragically but he will always be my baby,” she tweeted.

Tina gave birth to Craig when she was 18 – before her marriage to Ike Turner. After they married, Ike adopted her son and Craig took his last name.

But Craig’s biological father was Kings of Rhythm saxophonist Raymond Hill, who was a member of Ike’s band.

Raymond and Tina – then known as Little Ann – had a relationship in 1957, when she was just 17 and a new backing singer for Ike Turner’s band. Raymond died in 1996 of heart failure at the age of 62. Tina was married to Ike from 1962 to 1978.
