Lembitu Tverdjanski, Siim Jeeberg and Svetlana Aug received the Oak Wreath of Freedom medal from Justice Minister Lea Danilson-Järgi for their contribution to recording and passing on recent history.

In the case of forester and heritage culture researcher Lembitu Tverdjanski, it was highlighted that he has symbolically maintained the connection between previous generations and the present. Tverdjanski has collected a lot of historical and cultural material about Kullamaa and Läänemaa, and several books have been published based on this.

Siim Jeeberg, a member of the Western Chess Federation of the Defense League, earned a badge of honor for organizing historical events. He has helped organize the memorial days of forest brothers and freedom fighters in Läänemaa.

Svetlana Aug, a member of the Western District of Women’s Home Protection, received the badge of honor as the third Westerner. Aug is leading the work of the history committee of the Western District this year, but for many years he has been a leader in celebrating the commemoration days of the March and June deportations. In addition, he is a member of the organizing committee of the Land Protection Day and stands up for all important events to receive the attention they deserve in the local newspapers.

The Oak Wreath Medal of Freedom honors people who have merited merit in preserving and passing on the memory of the recent history of the Estonian state and people, participating in the freedom struggle and armed and unarmed resistance movements, as well as recording the Estonian freedom struggle and resistance movement.
