Three people buried in Madeira, a lifeless retreat
The collapse that, on Saturday afternoon, left three people buried in the Vitória area, in Câmara de Lobos, Madeira, caused the death of one of them, leaving the other two injured.
The victims were a couple, aged between 60 and 70 years, and the couple’s daughter, who was between 30 and 40 years old. While the younger woman and her father were rescued alive, the older woman did not survive.
According to a source from Funchal’s firefighters to Notícias ao Minuto, the collapse took place in a single-storey private residence, where the supporting wall collapsed over another house, affecting three people.
In the rescue operations, there were resources from the firefighters of Câmara de Lobos and Sapadores do Funchal, with 14 operatives and five vehicles.
