Three drug dealers including Yaba were arrested in the DB operation in Kamalganj

Three drug dealers named Mazharul Islam Maruf (34), Kant Mia (40) and Saju Ahmed Raju (34) were arrested along with 62 pieces of yabas in Kamalganj, Moulvibazar. On Monday (June 5) night, these three people, including Yaba, were arrested in Chandipur village of ward 5 of Kamalganj municipal area. The arrested accused have been involved in drug trade in Kamalganj thana area for a long time, according to the district detective.

A team of DB Police led by ASI Shahabuddin conducted a raid on the house of Mazharul Islam Maruf who was arrested in Chandipur village of Ward No. 5 under Kamalganj Thana municipal area at 12.30 pm on Monday night. Meanwhile, 62 pieces of orange Yaba tablets were seized from the spot after searching the bodies of those arrested. At this time the absconding accused No. 4 Md. Ahmed Khan, father – deceased Ali Badar Khan managed to escape after clashing with the police.

According to the police, the son of deceased Ali Badar Khan of Dakshin Kumrakapan village of Kamalganj town area. Ahmed Khan is absconding. He has been dealing in Yaba and drugs for a long time. He is known in the area as Ahmed alias Yaba Samrat Ahmed. There are several drug cases in his name in Kamalganj police station. The operation is on to arrest him.

Sanjay Chakraborty, officer-in-charge of Kamalganj police station, said that a case has been filed under the Narcotics Control Act at Kamalganj police station against the three arrested and one absconding person.
