Earlier in the week, we revealed that according to the latest rumors, the video game Death Stranding would be one of the first titles offered by Epic Games on the occasion of its famous “Mega Sales”. And if the game of the famous Hideo Kojima is talking about him at the moment, it is also because of one of the last Netflix serieswho is accused of having plagiarized the famous futuristic action game. A few days ago, we introduced you one of the latest hit series on Netflix, namely Black Knight. Released on May 12, 2023 on the streaming platform, this new South Korean sci-fi series is currently one of the most popular titles of the moment, just behind season 2 of New school and the spin-off of The Bridgerton Chroniclewith Queen Charlotte.

Series Black Knight transports us to an apocalyptic future, in which most of humanity has been wiped out. In South Korea, the survivors must then face another problem, the air having become highly toxic, and therefore a rare commodity. For some, this new Netflix production is halfway between the movie Mad Max : Fury Road and the recent series Silo, released earlier this month on Apple TV+. For others, it looks like a mix between Hokuto no Ken (or Ken the Boy Who Lived with us) and Death Stranding.

And precisely, given the similarities that can be found between the series Black Knight and the game of the famous Hideo Kojima, some then accused Netflix of having plagiarized Death Stranding. Because in this futuristic action game, players can discover that the protagonist makes deliveries in a world ravaged by the apocalypse. A point that we also find in the Black Knight series, with the main character played by Kim Woo-bin who is also a soldier in charge of oxygen deliveries.

But despite these similarities with Death StrandingNetflix assured that Black Knight had not plagiarized the Kojima Productions video game, given that the Netflix series is based on Lee Yoon Kyun’s self-titled 2016 webtooni.e. three years before the game was released Death Stranding in 2019. But for some, the story could still be inspired by the video game, highlighting the fact that the first teaser of Death Stranding was revealed during Sony’s E3 2016 press conference.

We then notice that this is not the first time that Netflix productions have faced accusations of this type, and in particular productions from South Korea. This was particularly the case for the hit series Squid Gamewho was accused of plagiarizing different manga, such as Child games or Kaiji.
