This is not a science fiction movie, but a futuristic lookout island in China – NeeWS

The project, which you can see in the attached photos, is the winner of the competition for the development of the coast in the Chinese city of Shenzhen, aimed at increasing the attractiveness of the region and attracting tourists to it. The task was not easy, because the organizers wanted “a sculptural and dynamic work of architecture, which would be a new addition to the developing part of the Chinese city, where many large investments have recently been built.

And it cannot be denied that it worked – as soon as the tower is built, it will certainly be the point of many trips, because it looks so futuristic that it is hard to believe that it was possible to implement it. We are talking about a 270-meter high observation tower supported by 99 thin pillars, imitating streams of water, thanks to which the platform looks like it is floating in the air.

– The team tried to symbolize the diverse world of this century. Most of the ninety-nine towers will float with limited points of contact with the main element, while the top of the structure extends widely outward. Viewed from above, the form suggests ninety-nine islands floating in the air.

The Sou Fujimoto team imagines the Gianhai Tower as an ethereal cluster of islands, the authors of the project explain. However, the platform will not only be a vantage point, as it would be a wasted potential, so tourists and locals will find there art exhibitions, theater performances and other cultural institutions, restaurants and retail outlets. Well, we are waiting for implementation!
