Darius Nicius, head of the Seaside Regional Park, said that someone purposefully placed a sign arbitrarily in the Plaze reserve, where visiting is generally restricted. This one is very similar to the ones that mark the beach areas in the city of Klaipėda.
Nudist beach – declares the new sign buried in the area of the Plaze nature reserve, where recreational activities are generally prohibited.
“Recreational activities are generally prohibited in this 4-kilometer stretch. You can only pass by when hiking, for example, to Palanga,” said D. Nicius.
The employees of the Seaside Regional Park believe that someone is purposefully aiming for a nudist beach here. He found out that there was even a Facebook group – “Karklės nudists”. It is believed that they purposefully made the sign so that it resembles other signs standing in Klaipėda.
It soon became clear that this place is already listed as a nudist beach on Google Maps. D. Nicius considered that people, not knowing that this is actually a reserve, could be misled and be punished with monetary fines.
Liability from 30 to 150 euros is provided for violation of the reserve regime in the ANK (Article 305 of the Code of Administrative Offenses).
Employees of the Seaside Regional Park promised to organize special raids this summer specifically to ensure the regime of the reserve.
There are two beaches for nudists within the city limits of Klaipėda: Giruliai and Smiltyne
“Those who pass by the beach and experience mobbing from any point of view can immediately report a violation of public order to the police. Of course, the illegal sign has been removed,” the park administration reported.
