Mobile phone masts invariably arouse controversy among a certain part of society. Such a situation occurred in the village of Posada in the commune of Kazimierz Biskupi. Local residents do not want to build a base station – they are afraid for their own health.
Mobile network expansion is a natural process. Operators want to provide the highest quality services to as many customers as possible, and most of them want to enjoy good coverage and fast mobile internet. However, some people have a different opinion. For them, the construction of a cellular mast is a controversial investment and they would prefer to avoid it.

More than 30 residents of Posada signed the letter submitted to the mayor. The protest against the construction of the mast is coordinated by councilor Paweł Moliński. He claims that the inhabitants came to him with a request to deal with the construction of a 56 m high mast, which is to be erected in the village.
One of the reasons why the residents do not want the mast to be built is the fact that it is to be erected in a housing estate of single-family houses at a distance of approx. 50 meters from the existing buildings. This raises health concerns.
– The investor prepares the test report on the electromagnetic field generated by the mobile phone station only after the construction of the mast. Our law says so. These studies are commissioned by the investor. You can tell yourself everything. So, at this stage, we do not know what the values of the electromagnetic fields around the mast are, explains Paweł Moliński.
Additional concerns, of course, relate to the impact of the base station on real estate prices. Its immediate proximity to houses would have a negative impact on their price. Councilor Moliński says that if the mast is to be built in the area, it should stand outside the village. The head of the commune, Grzegorz Maciejewski, pointed out that the matter would not be underestimated.
“As mayor, I stand in solidarity with the people. I am glad to receive this letter. This will also be the basis for my decision.
– The location is in the middle of single-family housing. According to the local plan, this area is intended for single-family housing with possible services. I do not want this investment to disturb the peace of my residents. We are analyzing it, but we will certainly be guided by their good – he adds.
The final decision on the construction of the mast is to be made by the end of May. If the investor receives a negative decision, the investor will be able to appeal against it to the Local Government Appeal Court in Konin.
