They buy a church and transform it into an idyllic house

A young couple with a passion for restoring old houses have made a Maryland church their home. they bought All Saints Churchas the religious building was called, in 2017 for $320,000 and they have already invested another $75,000 in turning it into the house of their dreams.

They are Gunther and Anastasiia and they have been reforming all the rooms of this church for nearly five years, which they have named Casa de Todos los Santos. They have redone the roof, they have redesigned their bedroom and they have renovated the kitchen. Everything you need to go from a religious building to a home for a family.

The couple has an Instagram profile, @allsaintshouse, in which he tells how the works are progressing. In addition, you can also see how his family has been increasing since the transformation plans began.

But, although they are now happy and proud of their house, the reform was not so easy. Building permits were very difficult to obtain, since it is a property with neo-Gothic architecture and more than 120 years old.

The house maintains the original finishes, in addition to the stained glass windows. The room in which the transformation is most noticeable is in the kitchen, despite the fact that it was the most difficult area in which to maintain the original style of the building. The couple changed the beams, the flooring, updated the electrical system and installed countertops.

The property has a total surface area of ​​232 square meters. It has three bedrooms, two bathrooms, kitchen and living room. And outside there is a large garden.

It also has a tower that was part of the old church. At the top there is a bronze bell dating from the year 1900. On the first floor is the library, recently renovated. And the second floor they plan to create a Victorian-style room to rent on Airbnb.
