They advertise shelter cats as if they were cars

A shelter in the United States advertised its cats for adoption as cars. Georgia’s Pippi’s Place Pet Rescue has edited ads about its current residents along the lines of the American used car portal Carvana, and hasn’t even shied away from blurring the names of individual car brands with kitty jargon. This is how the Catillac, the Furrari (fur means fur in English), the similarly smiling Furcedes, the Meowzda, and the Mini Pooper (which loosely translates to little pooper) were born.

It was not revealed how many cats were able to find new homes thanks to the striking ads, but in any case, it attracted the interest of many on Facebook. This is clearly shown by the fact that despite the small follower base of barely 800 people, the post was able to reach many people, if we start from the fact that in just a few days, 194 comments were received in addition to 426 reactions, and 722 people shared it.

The creative social media manager also boasted about the creative move on Reddit, where he also shared additional, detailed pictures of the cats. From the screenshots, we can read information about them as if they were real cars, even the “year, brand and model data” were given accordingly, which obviously refer to the year of birth and breed of the given four-legged friend.

The Georgian shelter was established two years ago, whose social interfaces are created on a voluntary basis by the person who is Motor1.com caught up. It turned out that the inspiration came from the fact that her husband has been thinking about buying a car for quite some time, so he often browses the Carvana site. That’s when the idea popped out of his head, what if he presented the residents of the shelter in a “cheeky” way by transforming Carvana – the result was Catvana.

Although the lady was quite modest about her own merits, it is likely that car buyers and fans will appreciate the gesture – it is not even a condition of unlimited cat adoration to understand the underlying, humorous intention. At least it’s not everyday when a cat is described as having “four-paw drive”, “two-speed automatic gearbox”, and one of the two stages is rest, and it also has heated seats.

The post was even more popular on Reddit, where it received 65,000 likes and more than 1,500 comments. Both here and on Facebook, several people indicated that they would help the shelter with donations – so it can already be stated that it has reached its goal.

Considering that there are also quite a few shelter cats in Hungary, and even more – in the order of millions – roaming the streets, there would be a basis for a similar campaign here, for example, along the lines of Használtautó.hu or JóAutók.hu. Based on the foreign example, could a JóCicák.hu possibly work?
