These are the highlights of Berlin Fashion Week 2021

Finally Fashion Week in Berlin again. After a long wait, fashion week took place again with the public and no one could miss that. The whole city breathed fashion.

The guests visited events and fashion shows that varied from classic design to hybrid concepts and international streetwear. In the process, up-and-coming designer Florentina Leitner met American streetwear designer Heron Preston and the internationally beloved label Ottolinger. FashionUnited has summarized the highlights for you.

Fassbender is going to Ibiza

Like many others, Christina Fassbender, her brother Sebastian Steinhoff and the creative director Matthias Louwen seem to be yearning for a holiday with sun, sea and sand right now. The trio behind the Hamburg label Fassbender showed a collection inspired by the Spanish island of Ibiza.

The blues of the Mediterranean meet the sand and stone landscape of the island in the Balearic Islands. The color palette is complemented by floral prints that bring the collection to bloom. The design of the SS22 collection is as versatile as the Ibiza landscape. Wavy and light fabrics are combined with workwear pieces made of sturdy fabrics. Elements such as sailor collars provide the maritime appearance. ## Platte.Berlin opened with Voguing-Show At the pop-up event of the Platte.Berlin, Berlin shows itself from a completely different side. At the fashion show in the courtyard – surrounded by gray concrete walls – the capital’s new fashion hotspot presents labels such as lingerie brand Dstm, Berlin streetwear brand Damur and sustainable accessories label Perlensau.

30 designers were presented in a combination of catwalk and voguing. The performance dance style voguing lives on the energy of its spectators and so the guests cheered, clapped and danced along with passion. Afterwards, the guests happily partied further at the aftershow event, celebrating not only Berlin fashion, but also the official opening of the Platte.Berlin.

Richert Beil shows “Tagesschau” at the Reference Festival

The design duo Richert Beil presented their SS22 collection in a very special location. In the dome of the 47 meter high, futuristic Bierpinsel building, creative director Jale Richert and designer Michele Beil showed the “Tagesshow”. Clean-cut suits and ties in combination with street and outerwear. In terms of colours, the collection kept itself in check with earth tones, black and light blue denim. The collection also remained fairly quiet with the patterns. The exception to this are the camouflage colours.
