There will be playgrounds in every ward of the capital: Tapas

Barrister Sheikh Fazle Nur Taposh, Mayor of Dhaka South City Corporation, has announced to acquire land and build playgrounds in each ward if necessary. DSCC Mayor Barrister Sheikh Taposh made the announcement while talking to reporters on Friday (March 5) afternoon after inspecting the football match of the third round of Inter-World Sports Competition-2021 at Karim Jute Mills Ground, Ward No. 6, Demra.

DSCC Mayor Barrister Sheikh Taposh said, “We want our boys to come back to the field and play. But we have seen that there is not enough sports space in every ward. Along with inter-ward sports competitions, we have taken initiatives to create sports venues in each ward. In the meantime we have recovered some places in a few wards. We have already taken steps to make them playable. In wards 42, 26 and 13, we are making playgrounds in the rescued places. It’s hard but a little hard but we are hopeful that we will have success in stages. If we need to acquire land, we will make it a playground for our children.

DSCC girl barrister Sheikh Taposh further said, “On the occasion of Mujib Year, we have organized ‘Inter-World Sports Competition – 2021’. This has caused a great stir in Dhaka. There is a lot of joy among the boys. ”

Responding to a question from reporters at the time, DSCC Mayor Barrister Taposh said, “In the initiatives we have taken, the mosquito infestation has already started to decrease.”

The DSCC mayor added, “I have said before – the advice given to us by the experts is that they think – since the dengue outbreak is till December, we have to take action against dengue by December.” We did so. That’s where I felt we had a little bit of a strategy. We should have started taking action on Culex mosquitoes from November. This is because with the onset of winter in November, the water depth has started to decrease and the water has become polluted and it has become a breeding ground for Culex mosquitoes due to dirt. ”

The DSCC mayor said action would be taken against dengue from April this year and against Culex mosquitoes from November.

Among others, Dhaka-5 MP Monirul Islam Manu, Dhaka Metropolitan South Awami League Joint General Secretary Kazi Morshed Hossain Kamal, DSCC Standing Committee on Sports and Culture. Mokaddes Hossain Zahid and other members of the standing committee, Regional Executive Officer of Zone-6 Shahidul Islam and local councilor were present.

It is to be noted that the last match of the third phase of the football game has been held today under the ongoing organization under the inter-world sports competition. The match was played between Ward No. 4 and Ward No. 57.
