There is another way to check your iPhone for infection with the new Triangulation virus

Kaspersky Lab has published its own utility for checking users’ iOS devices for viruses. Writes about it “Durov’s Code”.

Earlier, we already talked about one way to check your iPhone for the presence of the Triangulation virus that has been spreading in Russia lately. Now Kaspersky Lab has prepared its own Triangle Check utility for such a check. True, the very process of determining infection is unlikely to look simpler than the previous one.

First of all, you need to create a full backup on your computer. This can be done using iTunes or Finder. After that, you can start preparing its analysis.

• Install Python by downloading it from this link for your OS (get-pip.by line)
• Next, install the triangle_check Python package by entering the following line from the PyPI repository: python -m pip install triangle_check
• To analyze the backup using the Kaspersky utility, enter python -m triangle_check into the terminal or command line
• If you receive a MobileSync: Operation not permitted error on macOS, give Terminal permission for full disk access and perform the operation again.

After a successful analysis, the utility will show one of three results:

• DETECTED – specific indicators of infection were found, the device was infected with Triangulation.
• SUSPICION – aggregates of less unambiguous indicators were found, that is, indirect signs of infection.
• No traces of compromise were identified No signs of infection were found.
