According to the NKC website, during the current vaccination tour through Lithuania, anyone can receive a coronavirus vaccine without prior registration.
Arrivals are vaccinated live with COVID-19 Vaccine Janssen (manufactured by Janssen Pharmaceutica NV).
One dose is enough to get this vaccine.
Vaccination with the help of the NCC is carried out in more than twenty municipalities. One of them is the city of Palanga.
Although from the beginning of July it was possible to vaccinate daily in Jūratė and Kastytis squares at the bridge entrances every day. Now only on Sundays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Vaccinates several hundred people
According to the director of NKC Daumantas Gutauskas, on Sunday in Palanga it is possible to vaccinate everyone who wants to.
“We do not leave anyone who wants to be vaccinated without vaccination. This was mainly due to the fact that as soon as we started, there was actually such a failed project. We vaccinated 30-40 people a day in Palanga, when we vaccinated at least 250 people and an average of 300 people after making a vaccination trip to a small town with the same brigade, ”explained the NKC head.
According to D. Gutauskas, there is no desire to waste resources and it was decided to offer people in Palanga a mobile point to get vaccinated on the most convenient day of the week – Sunday. And in the next days, resources will be directed to Klaipeda and other towns in Western Lithuania.
“Why didn’t people get vaccinated? As much as I had to talk and our colleagues talked as much in Palanga, almost everyone who would have been vaccinated in our tent but did not do so said that they were afraid of ruining the holiday if there were side effects.
And Sunday is a day when holiday shifts usually change, people usually leave on Sundays, of course, with rare exceptions, ”he commented.
NKC mobile vaccination point now works mainly in Klaipeda near Lidl stores. About 500 people are vaccinated here every day.
D. Gutauskas reminded that NKC constantly needs blood supplies.
He urged donors to also visit mobile center points and donate blood.
