The winner of the “Voice” Alexander Volkodav from Bishkek will receive a million rubles

In “Voice” -10, which ended on Channel One late in the evening on the penultimate day of 2021, much was unusual. For the first time, so many music of different styles sounded: ethnics, folk, arias from operas, rock songs, classical pop, neo-soul, fragmentary and pop-jazz, and only rap and heavy metal remained unclaimed. And for the first time, the role of a collective mentor was assumed by the viewers, who chose the best performers in the team of Alexander Gradsky, who passed away after the start of the project.

And also – for the first time only one Russian woman – Elina Pan from Norilsk – made it to the final of the country’s main vocal project. But many talented young artists from the CIS countries came, and they all knew very well the golden hits of the Soviet stage, folk, and new pop and rock music. Moreover, by their performance it was noticeable – they love and sing our songs not for the first time.

And also, probably for the first time, after the first two competitive songs in the final it became clear that it was Alexander Volkodav from the Pelageya team that would win. Yes, the opponents were strong.

And the 26-year-old tenor from Kazakhstan Ernar Sadirbaev with a high, flying vocals, easily climbed into the fourth octave (and this performer was the only one to whom all four mentors turned on “blind auditions”) and with his enviable diaphragm could pull any winning and a difficult note. About him, Gradsky, by the way, at the beginning of the project ironically remarked: “It’s not interesting with you – you will sing any song anyway” …

And 35-year-old Alisher Karimov, an ethnic Uzbek, but also from Kazakhstan, who got a head start at the beginning of the final – sang the song “How Young We Were”, perhaps the most famous of Alexander Gradsky’s repertoire. Moreover, the directors brought up the master himself and his performance on the screen. Therefore, theoretically, a very beneficial “virtual duet” for the contestant turned out: both love, the memory of Gradsky – could also add love and high ratings from the audience. But maybe it was in vain that Alisher agreed, since Alexander Borisovich still outplayed him: in sincerity, passion, empathy, drama and vocal skill. And I would probably have outplayed everyone. So you shouldn’t be upset.

The winner, 32-year-old Alexander Volkodav, also, by the way, could be in the team of Gradsky. At the “blind auditions” only two turned to him: Pelageya and almost at the last moment Gradsky. Alexander Borisovich then noticed that he had several new ideas, songs that the guy could well sing.

But Wolfhound then chose the team of Pelagia.

And I think it’s not in vain.

She helped him to open up and show three completely different songs in the finale. At first she sang “The Game” with him, a duet in which they excellently, at the intersection of folk and pop music, creatively juggled timbres, mood, conveying courage and enthusiasm, mood to each other. Then Volkodav performed the dashing and daring “Cossack”, and the third he chose the ballad “Golden Sun Ray” sung with restraint and courage from the cartoon “The Bremen Town Musicians”.

Alexander took it with his charm, sincerity, artistry and the fact that he did everything very organically and sincerely – on the big stage they talk about such an image, the continuation of a person’s character – “a guy from our yard”. But at the same time, he sang really excellently – he demonstrated an enviable range both at the top and at the bottom, he always changed the pitch of his voice, its volume, timbre to the place, and, if he switched to falsetto, then only where it was necessary by the nature of the song – in the same “Game”. While some of the rivals were abusing this vocal trick just to show off and add some showiness to the songs …

by the way

For the victory, Alexander Volkodav, who after “The Voice” can already be considered an established artist who may be in demand on the domestic stage even tomorrow, will have the opportunity to record one song at an excellent studio. And he was also presented with a check for one million rubles (the rest of the finalists will receive 100 thousand each).

By the way

The winner of “Voices” -10 started with rock music, then graduated from the Kyrgyz National Conservatory and continued to play in his group again. Without comparing anyone, you involuntarily remember that Alexander Gradsky, having become a successful rock musician, also went to get higher education – first at the Gnessin State Museum of Fine Arts, and then at the Moscow Conservatory …

Yes, this wonderful person and artist, whose memory Golos -10 was dedicated to, always has something to learn from.
