Sky has announced a new German in-house production: The series “The Wasp” takes you into the everyday life of a former dart professional.
The six approximately half-hour episodes of the new Sky comedy series should revolve around Dartprodi Eddi Frotzke. After a long trough, he finally wants to build on his earlier successes. His alcoholic friend Nobbe is said to be there to help and advise. After numerous setbacks, Eddi finally wants to prove to people that he was not called “The Wasp” for nothing.
The idea and the scripts for the series come from Jan Berger (“The Medicus”, “I’ve never been to New York”). Hermine Huntgeburth (“Lindenberg! Do your thing”) will take over the direction. A cast has also already been found for protagonist Eddi. Florian Lukas, known from “Good Bye Lenin!” Or “The Defector”, will take on the leading role. Shooting should begin this year.
The Film- und Medienstiftung NRW and the Medienboard Berlin Brandenburg support the project. The Gaumont film studio will do the series for Sky to produce.
