The volume of purchases on marketplaces through the SBP has increased several times

The volume of purchases by Russians on marketplaces using the Fast Payment System (SBP) has increased five times, Russian Standard Bank reported. MTS Bank noticed the same trend and calculated that in the first quarter of this year, Russians began to use SBP ten times more often.

The number and amount of purchases by Russians on marketplaces through the SBP in the first quarter of 2023 increased five times compared to the same period last year. This is stated in a press release from Russian Standard Bank.

The average check for one purchase through SBP on marketplaces for the analyzed period increased from 1,361 rubles to 1,382 rubles.

A year earlier, 93% of purchases in terms of the number of payments and 95% in terms of their amount were made with the classic option of paying with a bank card. In the first quarter of 2023, these figures have changed – 71% and 74%, respectively.

MTS-Bank also noticed a trend towards an increase in the popularity of SBP among Russians. According to the bank, with the shutdown of Apple Pay and Google Pay services, the system began to be used ten times more often, and the money turnover increased 6.5 times. At the same time, the average purchase amount fell from 3260 rubles to 2170 rubles.
