Montreal – Formula 1 World Championship leader Max Dutchman Ver Verapappen won the inaugural training session for Sunday’s Canadian Grand Prix. The 24-year-old reigning champion was 0.246 seconds faster than Carlos Sainz of Ferrari at the Gilles Villeneuve circuit in Montreal. Another Spaniard, a 40-year-old veteran and two-time world champion Fernando Alonso from the Alpine stable, set the third time.
