The Ukrainian national team was banned from going to the World Cup in Moscow

Ukrainian media reported that the Football Association (UAF) and the Ukrainian Beach Football Association (APFU) have banned the country’s beach soccer team from participating in the 2021 World Cup, which will be held in Moscow at the end of August.

The media remind that last week the Ukrainian team took second place in the European selection for the World Cup, held in Portugal, and became one of four teams from the European continent that won the right to play at the 2021 World Cup.

It is noteworthy that earlier the vice-president of APFU Vladislav Vashchuk met with the national team of the country and outlined the goal for the Ukrainian team from the leadership of the two football associations – to get a ticket to the World Cup in Russia.

For this, the team was promised prize money.

This year, the Beach Soccer World Cup will be held in Russia for the first time in history. 16 teams will take part in the championship, the draw for the final stage will take place on 8 July in Zurich, and the games will be held in Moscow from 21 to 29 August.
