Bodrum Mayor Ahmet Aras confirmed to RIA Novosti the evacuation of three hotels due to a forest fire as a precautionary measure, tourists are accommodated in suitable facilities in the city center.

Earlier on Saturday, the evacuation of three hotels was reported by DHA.

“We are now on fire in the Kumbahche-Ichmeler neighborhoods. A second fire broke out in the Mumjular area. In Bodrum, three hotels and some residential buildings have been evacuated as a precaution. The hotel guests were accommodated in suitable facilities in the central part of Bodrum, ”the source said.

He added that the mayor’s office “fully supports the work to extinguish fires that are carried out from the air and on the ground.”

Earlier, Turkish Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Bekir Pakdemirli reported that extinguishing 20 forest fires continues in six provinces in the south of the country. There were also reported four victims of the disaster and 183 injured.

The fire affected the popular Turkish resorts of Bodrum and Marmaris, in the area of ​​which several hotels were evacuated.
