Bradley’s breads
The area of Mateh Yehuda is full of small boutique manufacturers, who bring their specialization to the level of art. One of them is the baker Oren Shmueli, the owner of the “Bradley” bakery in Srigim. Shmueli, a social worker by profession, came across the dough entirely by chance. A few years ago he met a German bread baker and from there he began to learn. What started as a hobby, has become a real occupation, and five years ago he started teaching organic baking in the Netherlands. Like many, the corona year caused him to change his priorities, and today he focuses mainly on baking traditional puffed breads, light breads, spelled breads, country breads, French breads and even Greek pastries. On Thursdays he also makes Naples-style Italian pizza.

On Thursdays and Fridays during the festival he will open the bakery and promise to make Turkish focaccia. If you want to deepen your knowledge and not just your stomach, there will also be two baking workshops: one of focaccia and one of pizzas, which end in spoiled carb meals. On Mondays a limited menu will be served, so if you are touring the area, you can come and eat.

Price: NIS 175 per workshop

On weekends there are also sourdough breads and wines. Buying from the refrigerator is self-service, based on a trust method: you take what you want and leave money at the checkout. On the shelves next to the fridge there are also picnic baskets from Morocco, where you can pack a personal picnic basket.
