This May, the schools of Martorell are participating in the campaign ‘Strong and Healthy Teeth‘. The Education and Health Departments of Martorell City Council have once again joined the campaign promoted by the Public Health Agency of Catalonia. Primary 1 students are receiving a case with material to learn how to do correct oral hygiene.
The schools of Els Convents, La Mercè, José Echegaray, Vicente Aleixandre, Juan Ramón Jiménez, Lola Anglada, Mercè Rodorera and El Pontarró have joined the campaign, covering more than 250 students from the 1st grade of our population
Its objective is “the prevention of dental caries and the promotion of healthy habits” and it is aimed “especially at Primary students”, explains the Councilor for Education and Health of the Martorell City Council, Soledad Rosende, who emphasizes the municipal administration’s commitment to this initiative: “It couldn’t be any other way for us to join, one more year”.

For this reason, the schools are receiving cases that are distributed to the students, which contain “fluoridated toothpaste, an hourglass, a toothbrush and small instructions that explain how we should brush our teeth properly to avoid cavities”, comments the councillor. Rosende emphasizes that this “is a good way to promote this healthy habit”.
