The strike at the Continental factory in Makó is over

The strike at Continental’s Makó plant ended at 2 pm, the Rubber Industry Trade Union Association (GSZSZ) informed

The complete shift strike, which started at 6 o’clock at Continental’s rubber factory in Makó, took place in the afternoon and ended at 2 pm, the GSZSZ announced.

According to the union, 85 percent of workers, an estimated 300 more than factory workers, took part in the action, a significantly higher rate than expected. According to the president of the GSZSZ, Gábor Radics, many did not even take the job at the beginning of the shift, while others joined the strikers on the way, so more and more people became. The union hailed the move as a great success. Radics said the afternoon shift started fine.

Rubber factory workers are protesting against unfavorable working conditions, including taking too much overtime and extra benefits for those who work there for more than ten years.
