Prague – The Mayors and Independents Movement (STAN) has approved a coalition agreement with the Pirates on cooperation in this year’s parliamentary elections. The agreement, which was finalized by both entities before Christmas, was won by 92 percent of the vote in the vote of the broader STAN leadership today, Mayor Vít Rakušan told reporters. The pirates will definitely decide on the formation of the coalition at their national forum on Saturday.
Pirates and STAN drew up a coalition agreement with programmatic starting points at the end of last year. According to her, the STAN movement should occupy the first candidate position in four regions, the national leader of the group should be the chairman of the Pirates, Ivan Bartoš. Program priorities include, for example, low taxes, affordable health care in the regions, climate protection, innovation and transparent governance.
The Austrian hopes that the Pirates will also support cooperation in the vote. According to him, the parties want to give the Czech Republic hope that after a period of stagnation and the rule of populism, it can experience a big change.
