the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 smartphone with photo sensor under the screen

Le smartphone ZTE Axon 40 Ultra is now official and confirms very high characteristics but also the choice of a front photo sensor placed under the screen, leaving the panel completely clear.

This highlights the large display 6.81 inches stretching on the edges and with very thin borders which, with its Full HD+ resolution, will benefit from a refresh of 120 Hz and support for 100% of the DCI-P3 color space, all with a density of 400 ppi.

Under the screen, a 16 megapixel photo sensor is hidden with a module offering large 2.24 µm pixels in order to capture as much light as possible and make you forget the hazardous photographic qualities of previous generations.

At the rear, the ZTE Axon 40 Ultra does not do half measures with a triple photo sensor composed of a 64 megapixel Sony IMX787 main module, a 64 megapixel Sony IMX787 ultra wide angle and a 64 megapixel periscopic zoom with OIS, with the possibility of 8K video recording.

The smartphone embeds a SoC Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 with vapor chamber cooling, up to 16 GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 1 TB of UFS 3.1 storage. It also carries a battery of 5000 mAh with 80W fast wired charging (but no wireless charging).

The ZTE Axon 40 Ultra will be offered with different memory configurations for prices ranging from from 4998 yuan to more than 7000 yuan (700 to 985 € approximately). It will be launched in China from May 13 and it remains to be seen if it will be offered internationally.
