The Slovenian volleyball team does not hide its high ambitions. The first set started evenly, the Germans even took the lead, and our boys scored at 7:7. Then they stepped on the gas, took matters into their own hands and, with some successful blocks, turned the score in their favor and led by five points, 18:12. In the continuation of the first set, our team only increased the difference with excellent serving and Slovenia won the first set with a seven point difference of 25:18. 1:0 in sets.
Slovenia started the second set promisingly and quickly gained a three-point advantage 12:9, to which the Germans responded with an excellent serve and reduced the difference to 13:11. Tonček Štern answered with a serve that exceeded the speed of 110 kilometers per hour and the difference again grew to three points 14:11. After a longer period of exchanges and maintaining a safe difference of four points, the Slovenians again put it in a higher gear at the end of the set and finished the second set sovereignly with 25:19.
The Germans were not afraid of our team’s atomic start and even led by five points.
