PULA – A newly built ship sank in the port of Pula yesterday, which fell from the travel elevator due to a cable break.
The ship fell at the moment when it was supposed to be delivered to the owner. It is a ship that Tehnomont built for the owner from Ireland.
Citing unofficial information, the Pula-based Glas Istre announced that the ship had fallen due to the firing of a cable during lifting.
The boat has not been pulled out yet as there is no proper crane nearby.
“What happened happened. Fortunately, no one was hurt. The ship was laid on the Avangard slipway, so it is their responsibility. But we are all equally saddened by the unfortunate event“, Said yesterday the director of Tehnomont, Gordan Deranja.
