Water and sewerage prices in Slovakia differ based on local conditions.
For Slovak households, the price of water and sewerage will increase by an average of 3.2% year-on-year in 2021, which represents a year-on-year increase in monthly costs for ordinary households by approximately 55 eurocents per month. The Office for the Regulation of Network Industries (ÚRSO) informed about it on Tuesday.
Prices will go up
According to its spokesman Radoslav Igaz, the Office decided on new water and sewerage prices continuously during 2020 on the basis of price proposals from regulated entities. “The Office can thus state that in 2021 the average price (weighted average) for the production and supply of drinking water at water companies in the Slovak Republic will be at the level of 1.11 euros / cubic meter (m3) without value added tax (VAT), while this is a year-on-year increase of 2.5%, “ said Igaz.
The average price for drainage and wastewater treatment at water companies will reach the level of 1.10 euros / m3 without VAT in 2021, which is a year-on-year increase of 3.9%. “The total price of water and sewerage will thus be at the level of 2.22 euros / m3 without VAT in 2021. This is a year-on-year increase of 3.2%, “ dodal True.
They turned every euro
According to the spokesperson, the Office admitted changes in prices due to the increase in economically justified costs, which the regulated entities were able to sufficiently demonstrate in price procedures. If ÚRSO fully accepted only proposals from water companies, the price of water and sewerage in Slovakia would increase by an average of up to 8.3%.
“It is true that there has been some increase in water and sewerage prices, although water companies have called for a more substantial increase. However, we have consistently turned over every euro in our decision-making and excluded any unauthorized cargo from regulated entities that could burden the price. “ said the chairman of ÚRSO Andrej Juris.
ÚRSO data are based on the prices of water companies, which ensure the highest share of supply and drainage of drinking water and wastewater in the Slovak Republic. The Authority also emphasized that these were average values. Water and sewerage prices in the Slovak Republic differ based on local conditions.
