The president said that Serbia will continue to diversify its supply of gas and other energy products.

– We will build interconnectors between us and North Macedonia and Bulgaria, so that we can connect to that TAP line. We are also thinking about other energy projects, new gas pipelines on the territory of Serbia, but also oil lines. I see that some are bragging that they are doing us a big favor by paying them a lot of money for oil transit, and that we are also diversifying it – he says.

Vučić points out that these things are of strategic importance for our country, and that by the middle of next winter we will have more diversified sources of gas than before.

– The situation is difficult, as you have heard. I did not hide it, although Ursula von der Leyen was more optimistic. You saw that I demanded in front of everyone that the countries of the Western Balkans also receive funds to cover the huge electricity prices that we pay. Only thanks to the good state of our finances will we survive this winter. And what will we do next winter? We are trying and working, I will talk more about it on October 8 – announced the president.

He said that Bulgaria will now have a much better situation because it will receive liquid gas from Greece and Azerbaijan.

– The Bulgarians are doing a good job. As far as we are concerned, everything is important. I didn’t know whether to cry or scream when I saw what happened on Nord Stream 2. Now imagine that happening somewhere in the Black Sea, and we’d run out of gas. Imagine if we hadn’t built the gas pipeline we have, we could tell people right now that they won’t have electricity for 12 hours a day – said the president.

Vučić points out that it is crucial for companies in Serbia to survive, and then he spoke about the geopolitical situation, and pointed out that the Russian annexation of four Ukrainian regions could have serious consequences for us.

– Apart from the fact that there is a fan discourse in our country where 80 people support Russia and the rest support Ukraine. Both say that Serbian interests are protected by supporting others. That is a lie, Serbian interests are protected only if you care about Serbia and not about someone else. You cannot change that, and I will not flatter anyone. Passions are too strong with us, and you cannot conquer emotions. It is necessary that the leadership is not guided by emotions but by reason – he says.

The president added that the annexation of four regions to Russia will result in even stronger pressure on Serbia.
