The police proposed to charge the head of the Vlastenecká noviny website with a racist article

The accused forty-two-year-old man stated in his text that the victims and the alleged perpetrator were Roma and wrote about the dead as harmful and parasite. The article appeared on the Vlastenecké noviny server the day after the fire. Although the deputy mayor of Bohumín, Igor Bruzl (ČSSD), had previously said that the dead and the perpetrator were not members of minorities, the server wrote about the dead as gypsies.

“Criminalists have completed the investigation with a motion to file charges against one natural and one legal entity in connection with the publication of racist articles in Vlastenecké noviny. The conduct faces up to three years in prison,” Jiroušková said.

In January this year, the Prague police accused another man in a similar connection. He also made and subsequently posted comments of a hateful and racist nature aimed at people living in the affected apartment. According to the police, the comments provably showed the approval of the crime and moral support for its perpetrators. Male criminalists have accused of defaming a nation, race, ethnic or other group and approving a crime. He could spend up to three years in prison. According to Eva Kropáčová, a spokeswoman for the Prague police, the investigation of this case continues.
