Strunga Winery, a local wine producer from Iași, launches a new range of products. It is inspired by the poem “Strunga”, written by Vasile Alecsandri. The new wines are part of the basic range of the winery, named after the producer and are his signature for the wines he puts on the market.
The new Strunga range includes an assortment of white, rosé and red wines, in a variety of varieties. These are already available in both the online store strunga.com, as well as in partner stores. The labels of the new products include the lyrics of the poem “Strunga”, written by Vasile Alecsandri, the source of inspiration for this range. Moreover, the Strunga Winery vineyards are located near the Strunga forest, the one described by the poet Vasile Alecsandri.
“It was a natural step for us to include the lyrics of Vasile Alecsandri’s poetry on the new labels. Ever since the opening of the winery, the poet’s work has been a real inspiration, in which he has exceptionally included the stories of the lands where we carry out our activity. These places of legend are now our home, and their history and symbolic load give us the strength to take their story further. We are proud to be able to do this and consider ourselves an excellent link between the nostalgia of outlaw stories and the sophisticated taste of the times. We want to come even closer to our consumers through this new range and offer them a special taste, through which to evoke the spirit of legends with outlaws – freedom, good cheer and living the moment “, he declared Florin Stegariu, founder of Strunga Winery.
Through these wines, Crama Strunga aims to be closer to its consumers. One of the objectives set for 2021 was to expand the product portfolio, because this year is good for Romanian wines. Equally, the company aims to expand its presence at national and local level, by increasing the number of partnerships.
Currently, half of the wines produced by Strunga are white wines, followed by about 30% rosé wines and 20% red wines. The Strunga assortment consists of three white wines – Muscat Ottonel, Chardonnay and Fetească Albă, two rosé wines – Busuioacă de Bohotin and a rosé blend of Merlot and Cabernet, but also a red wine. Equally, Strunga is proud of Reveria, an exceptional rosé, but also of a series of limited edition wines launched over time.

The lathe ensures a high quality of the products by adopting a special process. Thus, the planting of vines is done following detailed studies that identify the needs appropriate to each variety. Harvesting is done manually, in crates, and the positioning of the vineyards very close to the winery helps to preserve the quality of the grapes. Also, the maturation and bottling is done according to a carefully monitored method, which offers the possibility to maintain the quality of the wine at the desired level.
In 2020, Strunga Winery strongly focused on online and adapted its business strategy to the new requirements.
