The Ministry of European Funds wants to allocate one billion euros for afforestation

The Minister of European Funds, Cristian Ghinea, announced that he will propose the inclusion of the afforestation campaign in the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR). One billion euros could be allocated for forestry funding, but legislation needs to be changed.

The Minister of European Funds, Cristian Ghinea, claims that he will propose to the European Commission the inclusion of afforestation, especially the creation of forest curtains, in the National Recovery and Resilience Plan. Thus, the budget allocation for this area could increase to one billion euros. Reforms are needed to obtain money from the PNRR for afforestation

“We will allocate this money after we first make a reform of the legislation in the field, because this is the objective of PNRR, to generate first of all reforms. At this moment, the legislation in Romania is so tangled that the efforts so far have been blocked most of the time in bureaucracy and contradictory laws “, explained Minister Ghinea, on Facebook.

The money will be granted in stages to all institutions that can implement the procedures requested by the Ministry of European Funds.
