WARSAW – Poland plans to double the minimum wage in 2024 to help people cope with high inflation, said Minister of Family and Social Policy Marlena Malag.

The cost of living has been rising significantly in recent months, with inflation reaching its highest level in more than 25 years in February at 18.4 percent on an annual basis. In April, inflation amounted to 14.7 percent.
“The minimum salary next year will be above 4,200 zlotys /926 euros/”, said Malagova, as reported by the state news agency PAP.
She said that, as in 2023, next year the minimum wage will be increased in two steps – from January 1 and July 1.
The minimum wage has been raised to 770 euros since January 2023, and will be raised to 794 euros from July. Srna-Reuters
