The message of the artist Olafur Eliasson for children in Romania: Tell the world what kind of future you want

Maybe you didn’t catch the sun he set in the Tate Gallery in London or the waterfalls he arranged in different cities around the world. Now the Danish-Icelandic artist Olafur Eliasson has launched a work that you can access from your mobile phone.

Eliasson designed the Earth Speakr online platform to mark the German presidency of the Council of the European Union in 2020. The artist sent a message to children and young people in Romania: Tell the world what kind of future you want for yourself.

“Hello, child or young man from Romania! I have a message for you. I am an artist and I am interested in designing messages, sending messages to the world through art. I think you can be an artist too and I think you can send amazing messages because I think all children are smart, they are experts. Here is an application through which you can talk to the big ones, to the politicians, to all those who make all the decisions. Now you can send them messages with what you think should be done especially about your future, the environment, the planet, the animals, your friends. Here is an application through which you can tell the world what kind of future you want for yourself “, says Olafur Eliasson.
