The Mediterranean Epic 2021 announces a luxurious and varied participation

There are so many prominent names on the Mediterranean Epic participant list that it is difficult to choose just a few of them. While the participation of XCO riders continues to be top-notch, the roster of XCM bikers and teams has multiplied. Among them the name of Jaroslav Kulhavy stands out above many others. The Olympic champion in London 2012 is going to focus on the bike-marathon in 2021, starting a new stage in his sports career that will debut (with all its novelties) at the Mediterranean Epic. The Czech biker will not come alone, and in his new team he will have the company of 2 other high-level bikers, who will also be on the starting line.

Talking about bike-marathon is talking about Team Bulls. The German team is, in its own right, one of the best in the world. Capable of winning the Absa Cape Epic or any other race on the calendar. In 2021 they have opted for the Mediterranean Epic as the place to start their season. A totally unknown fact since the team has never competed in any Spanish event with so many riders. Alban Lakata, triple XCM world champion, is its best known man. But not the only one capable of winning. The Swiss Urs Huber and the German Simon Stiebjahn are capable of anything. Both have been national champions in their passes. Simon Schneller, Martin Frey and Hansueli Stauffer complete a formidable team.

The Trek-Pirelli needs no introduction. One of the most powerful XCM (and now XCO) equipment on the planet. And already aware of the test. It seems that after being close in the past, this year they come wanting to climb to the top. They will bring in their entire XCM team, including their recent signing Daniel Geismayr. Along with Samuele Porro, Fabian Rabensteiner and Michele Casagrande.

Another former world champion who arrives wanting to win is the Portuguese Tiago Ferreira. One of the brightest men in long distance. A physical marvel that has inscribed his name in many of the best races on the planet. His team, DMT Racing, arrives with everything at the Mediterranean Epic. Among them another ex-XCM world champion: the Greek Periklis Ilias. And his new signings: the German Vinzent Dorn, the Portuguese Roberto Ferreira and the Belgian Wout Alleman.

Johnny Cattaneo, Marco Rebagliati, Martino Tronconi and Ole Hem are the members of the powerful Wilier 7C Force. Bikers including stage winners at the Absa Cape Epic and national champions, such as Ole Hem, Norwegian national champion.

It is impossible to forget the Jb BRUNEX Superior Factory Racing, the team of the current XCM world champion, and double winner of the Mediterranean Epic, Ramona Forchini. The Swiss is not the only star on her team, which also has the winner of several stages in the race, Simon Vitzthum, in its ranks.

We could say that the Mediterranean Epic 2021 will also have the best national bike-marathon team, the Buff-Scott MTB Team. But after his last signings we can already consider him a completely international team. Both the Dutch Hans Becking and the Portuguese Jose Dias will debut with their new colors on the trails of Oropesa del Mar and Castelln and, alongside them, will be the rest of the bikers of this powerful team: Francesc Guerra, Jos Mara Snchez, Enrique Morcillo and Guillem Cass.

The organizers assure that these are just some of the big names that we will see at the Mediterranean Epic 2021, to be held from February 11 to 14, as they are still waiting for the confirmation of another large group of runners who will make this the Mediterranean Epic with the best participation in its history.
