Just like last year, this year in mcae they threw 500 hearts into 3D printing for the Olga Havel Foundation charity run, in order to support a good cause and strengthen the sporting spirit in society. The heart from the 3D printer will serve as a medal for each participating competitor. The printing of 500 hearts, which will serve as awards for the competitors, took place on a professional 3D printer Stratasys F900which works with FDM technology.
This 3D printer is commonly used in large manufacturing plants, mainly in the automotive industry, because it is ideal for series production. It uses fourteen real thermoplastics to print the models, providing the appropriate material properties, biocompatibility, resistance to heat, chemicals, UV radiation or electrostatic resistance. There are five different building layer print heights to choose from, the choice of which will be reflected in the detail settings and print processing speed.
After a minor modification to the 3D model, the technicians decided that it would be best to use ASA material for 3D heart printing. This printing material has excellent mechanical strength, UV stability and ideally combines more colors, as in this case, when a combination of white and red was used. Only in the opposite variant than in 2020. Thanks to two cartridges, the 3D printer is capable of continuous operation. Such a large series of trophies was printed within a few days so that the event organizers would have them with them as soon as possible.
