JUSTICE – A preliminary investigation has been opened into the expenses of the mayor of Romorantin-Lanthenay (Loir-et-Cher) Jeanny Lorgeoux after revelations from Mediapart Saturday, announced on Monday, May 3, the prosecutor of the Republic of Blois, Frédéric Chevallier.
“After the publication of an article (…) concerning the commitment of public expenditure in the amount of ‘66,000 euros’ by the town hall of Romorantin-Lanthenay and the community of communes of Romorantinais and Monestois (… ), the public prosecutor (…) decided to open a preliminary criminal investigation in order to verify the conditions under which the mentioned expenses (…) were incurred ”, writes the prosecution in a press release.
The investigation was entrusted to the judicial police of Tours.
According to an article by Mediapart published saturday, Jeanny Lorgeoux would have engaged for 66,000 euros of expenses of mouth and reservations of suites, for a total of 24 invoices, in a renowned establishment of his city. Between 2017 and 2020, the elected would have received in this luxury establishment several local elected officials, but also business leaders and foreign delegations.
