Kullamaa School student Paula-Marie Ojaver became the winner in her class at the crossbow world championship held at Jõulumäi in Pärnu County.

Ojaver competed in the JFTR or Junior Girls’ Traditional Hunting Bow class and won the overwhelming first place. Ojaver got a total of 935, Katrin Tilga 705 and the Spaniard Diaz Tejero 665 points.

“It went better than I expected. I was sure I would get second place because Laura Diaz Tejero was kind of like…” Ojaver searched for words. “When we practiced, he shot very well. But when I shot the record one day, I was sure I would get first place. I’m pretty happy about that.”

“He won quite well, yes. At the same time, he set an Estonian record,” said Ojaver’s coach Aare Lauren. Ojaver set the Estonian record in the animal ring – 252 points.
