The July shift for children’s summer activities and August registrations begins

Sports School 2020

As of this Monday, the Summer House and the Sports School for girls and boys in Martorell are already open with 229 participants. This year’s offer has been heavily conditioned by the COVID-19 and, therefore, the organization has taken extreme safety and hygiene measures. Registration is currently open for the August shift.

The two activities, for children born from 2008 to 2016, run until July 31 in the first shift, from 09.00 to 13.00 and from Monday to Friday, with the option of dining and reception service from 08.00 to 09.00 . The Summer House is entitled ‘Heroines and Heroes’, and 11 monitors promote enriching activities to learn and create characters for 110 children. The Sports School puts into practice the basic skills of different sports, complemented by recreational and leisure activities, workshops, walks, cycling and skating.

The Councilor for Education and Health, Soledad Rosende, points out that this year’s proposals are more special than ever “because children are reunited with classmates they may not have seen since the beginning of the confinement”, and that they are a space to learn, enjoy and meet again ”. He emphasizes that “from the City Council we highly value that no child has been left without summer activities.”

The start of the casals “has started quite well, considering that this is a very special year. Before we started we didn’t know what the response of the families would be, but we realized that they are quite aware. They are making it very easy for us to start the activities ”, highlights the director of the Summer House, Gemma Táboas.

Táboas emphasizes that “the protocols set by the health authorities and those we have designed make the Casal a super safe space and that children fully enjoy the activities we have adapted.”
