It has been a year and a half since the Auto magazine team met the Jeep Gladiator at an international presentation held in Italy.
However, it was a static presentation, without the possibility to drive a car, when many call it a working machine.
Still, we didn’t feel too deprived, as for the second time we got a chance to test the Jeep Wrangler in the most extreme forest conditions.
The Jeep Gladiator is, in fact, a pickup version of the Wrangler model, with an extended wheelbase. What is a big novelty is that the existing range of engines will be joined by the largest – a three-liter V6 turbo-diesel.
Of course, the commercial designation of the engine is Multijet. It develops a total of 264 horsepower and a round 600 Nm, which is on a par with similar premium manufacturer engines.
That is, it can be said, the maximum power when it comes to the European market for the Jeep Gladiator. Countries that have less strict standards on exhaust emissions will also get a gasoline engine – a 3.6-liter Pentastar V6.
