Inflation inevitably caught up with domestically organized summer festivals, the prices of daily tickets and passes rose by 20-35 percent compared to last year. Speaking of which, napi.hu found out how much festival tickets are offered in neighboring countries and at some popular festivals in Western Europe.

Ticket prices are punishing: domestic festivals are the most expensive in the region

The spectacular price increase can already be seen in the ticket sales of domestic festivals, but it is expected that the tents and dance floors will not remain empty. We looked around to see if it would still be worthwhile to go to festivals at home in the summer or if it might be more worthwhile to relax at foreign, regional festivals.

The main organizer reminded that the cultural sector did not receive much support during and after the pandemic, but they survived this period. In addition, advance sales are encouraging, weekly and daily tickets are selling at a good rate, and more than 100,000 foreign guests are expected. Last year – according to the organizers’ calculations – around 450,000 people partied on the Island. The opening day was sold out, two more, Friday and Saturday, were almost sold out, said the main organizer of the festival after the event.

There will be a student ticket, which has been renewed, and you can get it in particularly good plans. A six-day ticket costs HUF 146,000 this year, a daily ticket starts at HUF 34,000, but you can also buy a three-day ticket.

The most important renovation will take place in the Sziget’s comfort level. This year, especially in its appearance, the event wants to regain its former leading position in this field.
