Processor sockets and processor housing designs by AMD have their advantages and disadvantages compared to Intel. Intel processors in LGA-type housings with contact pads are generally more durable than AMD’s Ryzens, which have pins. If they bend slightly, it is still easy to line them up, but if the bend is bigger, the problem is in the world. In such a case, the already bent pin can easily break during straightening, and we have no choice but to pray that it is not exactly one of the necessary ones. But if possible, nothing is lost yet, as the pins can be re-soldered or replaced with wire.
On the other hand, in the case of LGA, there is a risk of damage to the socket itself, where there are also pins that are even finer and have a more complex shape. And while they’re generally more flexible than the pins on processors, we can also damage them very easily. However, Intel processors still have one significant advantage. They are secured in the socket very well by a metal frame, while the AMD processors are attached only thanks to the pins themselves and it is possible to pull them out, there is a risk of damaging them.
Probably few have succeeded in such a thing, after all, it depends mainly on what kind of cooler and paste we use. If, for example, someone used more paste than is healthy, and over time it has formed a hard crust at the edges and the processor has stuck firmly to the heatsink, there is a real risk of mechanical damage when trying to remove the heatsink. Especially when we don’t count on it and use a little brute force.
However, the disadvantage is that, unfortunately, it is not a universal solution. The frame only works with Gelid brand coolers, although it is possible that it will be possible to use it with others, but of course it will only be a coincidence.
