Staff Reporter: Trading on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) ended on Monday with a sharp fall in the price index. The amount of money transactions on the DSE has also decreased. The same picture is seen on the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE).

According to DSE and CSE, shares and units worth Tk 1,214.62 crore were traded on DSE on Monday. On this day, there was a shortfall of Tk 28 crore 82 lakh less than the previous day. A total of Tk 1,482.45 crore was traded on the DSE on Sunday.

On Monday, the main price index DSEX fell 53 points to 6,019 points. Among the other two indices, the DSE 30 index decreased by 15 points and the DSES or Shariah index decreased by 3 points.

A total of 360 companies traded on the DSE on Monday. Of these, prices of 61 companies increased, prices of 280 companies decreased and prices of 39 companies remained unchanged.

On the other hand, the Chittagong Stock Exchange also ended the fall of the index. On Monday, the overall CSE index CSPI decreased by 153 points. Shares worth Tk 36.53 crore were traded on the CSE on the day.
