The Inauguration of the Orchid Greenhouse is a Special Gift for the 206th Anniversary of the Bogor Botanical Gardens

jabar.jpnn.comBOGOR CITY – This year’s anniversary of the Bogor Botanical Gardens (KRB) was held in conjunction with various activities, which were held offline, on Wednesday (17/5), at the Orchid Greenhouse, Bogor Botanical Gardens.

Deputy for Utilization of Research and Innovation at BRIN, R. Hendrian said that the theme of the event being held today was “Encouraging Plant Conservation & Environmental Preservation in the Regions”.

“This event not only invited the managers of the Indonesian Botanical Gardens, but also the Heads of the Regional Research and Innovation Agency (BRIDA) and alumni who received Kalpataru,” said Hendrian, Wednesday (17/5).

He explained that in the future, closer coordination is needed between BRIDA and the management of Botanical Gardens in the regions.

The momentum of commemorating the anniversary of the Bogor Botanical Gardens this year is expected to be the starting point for this coordination.

Until now, in Indonesia there are no less than 46 Botanical Gardens managed by Regional Governments and Universities, as well as 5 Botanical Gardens managed by BRIN.

According to Hendrian, ideas and thoughts that are implementable and in accordance with the specific conditions and challenges that exist in various regions are urgently needed.

“Therefore, we also invite Kalpataru alumni to participate in driving plant conservation and environmental preservation in the regions, as well as providing inspiration and enriching the development of research and innovation in the regions,” he explained.
