In the near future, two of the six modular buildings acquired by the Daugavpils Regional Hospital will be put into operation, designed to expand the capabilities of the infectious diseases department of the hospital by accommodating “lung” patients with coronavirus in them. At the moment, all these buildings are fully connected to heating, sewerage, the installation of smoke detectors has been completed in them, it is planned to install video surveillance, said the head of the DRB Grigory Semyonov.
Six modular buildings, equipped with an autonomous heating system, a shower and a toilet, can accommodate 5 patients each, thus freeing up 30 beds in the infectious diseases block of the DRB.
The pandemic, fortunately, will not last forever, so DRB is already considering the possibility of using modular buildings later. After the end of the pandemic, additional buildings are planned to accommodate detox patients who just need to sleep. In addition, these buildings can be used as an archive or an engineering block can be transferred to them.
In any case, they will not disappear, since there are plenty of ideas for their further use, the head of the DRB explained.
