The police recovered the hanging body of a tribal farmer named Lalon Baraik (38) from a mango tree in Sirajganj. The body of the deceased farmer was recovered from the mango tree of his residence in Songui Dakshin Para village of Madhainagar Union of the upazila on Sunday morning.

The deceased farmer is the son of deceased Jyotish Baraik of Songui Dakshin Para village of upazila.

Baikali Baraik, the wife of the deceased, said that her husband left the house after eating dinner on Saturday night to cook for his neighbor’s funeral. Later in the morning, the people of the area saw the dead body with a rope around the neck of the mango tree and informed the police.

He also said that no incident like suicide has happened in our family. My husband’s death is mysterious.

Later, the body was recovered from the spot and sent to Sirajganj 250-bed Bangmata Sheikh Fazilatunnessa Mujib General Hospital morgue.
