The government will deal with the move to the 4th degree PES around Wednesday

In connection with a possible mitigation of the measures, Havlíček pointed out that it is necessary to maintain the epidemic development in the lower level of the PES system for at least seven consecutive days. The situation in hospitals will also be important. “We have to be careful. We don’t want an extra day of restrictions, but we have to be sure that the situation will not get worse again quickly after the opening,” the minister explained. He admitted that the last time the measures were relaxed in early December was the mistake of opening restaurants.

On Monday, the government should not discuss the easing of restrictions yet, but the move will include the transfer of shops with paper supplies to the so-called basic assortment, the minister added.

In today’s debate with the chairwoman of the opposition TOP 09, Markéta Pekarová Adamová, Havlíček also addressed the functioning of the registration system for coronavirus vaccination. Its launch on Friday was accompanied by problems where registration text messages were delayed and the system was sometimes unavailable. Pekarová Adamová criticized that the system often crashed during the first day. It also bothers her that people have to watch their free dates themselves. However, the minister refused that the system would not work. According to him, around 150,000 people over the age of 80 are currently registered, 37,000 of whom have a reserved date.

According to Havlíček, two variants of registrations of other persons are currently being prepared after 1 February. The first of them is the continuation of registration, after which, however, it will be expected that another supply of vaccine will arrive in the Czech Republic. The second option is to interrupt the registration for several months. On Friday, Prime Minister Andrej Babiš (YES) said that it was useless for the system to be open to all by that day. This is due to the limited supply of vaccinations only for the preferred groups.
